Cletus Azaabi - Member

Dr. Cletus Azaabi is an experienced Computer Science Lecturer/Educationist and a Consultant with over 10 years’ experience in Lecturing, Consulting and Governance in academia, private and at corporate levels. He has specialities in Cybersecurity Policy Analysis and Governance, Green Computing & ESG Policy Analysis, Corporate Governance, Rural Banking. Dr. Cletus Azaabi has had variety of corporate experience spanning multiple sectors including Banking, Education, Health and public sectors in Ghana.

Dr. Azaabi holds a PhD Degree in Computer science from the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani, Ghana. A master of Science Degree  in Information Technology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. A Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Information Systems from GIMPA, Accra, Ghana. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Education from the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Cape Coast, Ghana and Professional Teacher Certificate from the Gbewaa College of Education, Pusiga, Ghana.

Regarding corporate experience, Dr Cletus Azaabi has served on several boards and councils including; the Presbyterian Health Service-Northern Sector, Board Member of the Upper Presbytery Education Committee. He also served as a board member of the Upper East Regional Lands Commission where he served on various sub-committee of the Council. Dr. Azaabi was a council member and past president of the Upper East Chapter of the Association of Rural and Community Banks and served as a member of the National Council for four years. Dr. Azaabi has been a board member and chairperson of the BESSFA Rural Bank PLC in Garu, whose tenure expires in December 2026. He is also a serving board Member of the ARB Apex Bank PLC and chairperson of the Cyber and Information Security/Information Sytems/Payment and Settlement Systems (CIS/IS/PSS) committee of the Board, Member of Risk Audit and Compliance committee of the board whose tenure expires in May 2026. He has had local governance experience having served as an elected assembly member of the Yabrago Electoral Area of the then Garu-Tempane District and chaired the Development Planning Committee, Works and Justice and Security Committees of the assembly. At the school, He is currently the Head of Department of Mathematics & Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and teaches Course in ICT. He is a member of the College’s Academic Board and serve on various Committees of Council including finance, Entity tender, academic affairs, Quality Assurance and staff Development and Research. In recognition of his sterling performance in teaching and learning, he was adjudged the national best Teacher in the use of innovative of ICTs in teaching and Learning in 2009.

Dr. Azaabi Cletus is a researcher with a number of peer-reviewed academic papers published in reputable journals to his credit. His research focuses on Cybersecurity in Critical Information Infrastructure (CII), E-learning Systems, Machine Learning and other Education-Related domains. Dr Azaabi is a trained Corporate Governance Expert and a member of the Institute of Directors, Ghana and a Trained and practicing ESG professional.
